Outfit ideas

How to create outfits with the clothes you already own

Start with one piece you want to wear and a real plan for your day. A new combination does not have to mean a new purchase.

WHERE TO START

Pick one starting piece, add a comfortable pairing and finish with shoes and a layer suited to your plans. Try two options instead of working through your entire wardrobe.

Give the outfit a job

Think about where you are going, how you will travel and what you will do. A day at a desk followed by a walk needs different choices from an evening spent mostly indoors. Your clothes should work throughout the plan.

Start with one piece you already like: trousers that feel comfortable, a favourite shirt or an easy dress. Let that narrow down the next choice.

Use colour and shape as starting points

Choose a colour already present in your starting piece and repeat it elsewhere. Navy trousers with a cream knit or a patterned skirt with a plain top can make a useful first experiment. You do not need every accessory to match exactly.

Look at the proportions together. Try a different top length, an open shirt or a lighter outer layer. These are options to explore, not rules about what a particular body should wear.

Make two versions from the same base

Keep the trousers and top, then change the shoes and outer layer. Trainers and an open shirt might suit a casual day; loafers and a jacket may feel right for a more dressed-up plan. Use the alternatives that are already in your wardrobe.

Compare only a couple of versions. If something feels wrong, change one part at a time so you can see what made the difference.

Use Kulis for ideas, then make the final choice

Add your own clothes and describe a plan such as “dinner after work, relaxed but put together”. Kulis can suggest combinations from your saved clothing details. You can swap pieces on the mannequin and save the result.

A digital preview cannot check comfort, fabric feel or exact fit. Try the real outfit, including the shoes and bag. Save the version you actually enjoyed wearing so you can use it again.

Try it with what you own.

Adapt these starting ideas to your plans, comfort and personal style.
